A-type star in the constellation Pictor, 63 light years from Earth. The star is twenty megayears old, and is surrounded by a circumstellar disk of dust and debris.
Two planets are considered to exist: Beta Pictoris c is a superjovian orbiting at an altitude of 2.6AU, Beta Pictoris b is a superjovian orbiting at 10AU. They are separated by a dust belt at 6AU.
